this is the first book in the soulshares series and introduces you nicely to the concepts of the Fae, being a soulshare and the evil that awaits all those that are soulshares and especially the fae.Ms. NiCoileain wraps so much up in a nice erotic package with her sublime descriptive writing that tantalizes you and sparks the imagination to run wild and free in this first book about Tiernan and Kevin.
Tiernan is a royal Fae with a serious attitude. Also a Fae with guilt and regret about who he is and what he has done in his past to be put in the human world. Even with the attitude though he is hot as sin and a fun character to read about as he wars with himself over his feeling for Kevin and the idea of a soulshare and what it means to him.
Kevin is a lawyer who is kind and ambitious but not hungry. The desire to succeed and hunger is not there. It’s as if he is missing that in his soul and in fact he is. Where he got the compassion soul Tiernan got the attitude and drive and hunger part of the soul. This is part of what it means to be a soulshare. Two souls that make them complete once they are bonded. They become protective of each other and shield each other from others and harm. Kevin’s and Tiernan’s though wasn’t a easy one.
tiernan fought it tooth and nail. That is until Kevin is in danger of losing himself to the Marhfach. Kevin the sweetest guy imaginable and one that will have you wonder how Tiernan ended up with such a incredible guy is being pulled in different directions by this evil incarnate that has nefarious plans. Tiernan fights for Kevin and in the process realizes he loves him. A love so pure and feral it will have you go awwww…..
These two separate are lonely, lost and incomplete but together they are ferocious, protective of one another, supportive of each other, totatlly steaming in bed and a dreamy swoony couple. They understand each other and are completely devoted to one another. It takes alot for them to get that point and the evil they battle is one of the ways they get closer to each other.
this is a love story that will have you smile and root for Kevin to break through Tiernan’s facade. With Kevin’s understanding and acceptance and Tiernan’s fierceness we see a love like no other that is able to battle all that stands in their way and much will I fear as we go along in their story and the battle of good and evil.

What makes this story so different from many others in the m/m genre is the richness of the story. Not only does she do a marvelous job setting each scene...and she does.... but she also gives you incredible insight into the character's thoughts and emotions. The reader feels Tiernan's pain, Kevin's honor and the pure joy they bring to each other. Nothing in the story feels contrived, the events flow simply and easily through the book. Her characters draw you so easily into their world that I still can't put it down. I'm pulled back to them again and again.
I always thought the Fae were little tiny things with wings, then Tiernan came along. This book is filled with adventure, hot men with tattoes, a paranormal world that is new and interesting, hot men, a sexy lawyer (Is there such a thing) bad guys, and did I mention hot males? The only thing I hated about the book was that it ended. I look forward to reading more from this author, she never disappoints.
I wish there were 10 stars to give. After 9 hours of continuous reading, I hated for the book to end. I rank this book among the best I have read in the m/m genre. The combining of two halves of one soul, one half residing in Kevin, a lawyer in the real world and the other half in Tiernan,a Fae. Their meeting and instant attraction is a puzzlement to both, but an attraction neither of them can deny. The emotions of both men are ever present throughout the story and make the characters real and endearing. The path to love is not easy for Kevin and Tiernan. Where would a story be without an evil interloper both in the Fae realm and in the realm of the real world. As in life, our struggles often bring us closer to the ones we love. Interesting twists and turns take the reader on an addictive ride as our characters come together. In my humble opinion, HARD AS STONE is an absolute MUST READ. I guarantee that you will not be disappointed. 5 stars and a keg of honey for you, Rory Ni Coileain.
I "met" Rory Ni Coileain on Facebook! I liked the way she wrote her comments, very intellegent and well written. When I discovered she wrote a book, I liked her bit about it on FB and decided to give her book Hard as Stone a try. It was more than worth it. Characters that come to life page after page. A story line that keeps you turning the pages. Love sceens that feel like that first sip of hot chocolate, hot and sweet! It is a M/M romance. The book is worth the read. It keeps one guessing and tingling! I recommend this book to all readers. It's going to be hard to wait for the next book! Yea Rory!
I was going to wait on my review of this E-Book till I found the right words to truly express my overwhelming experience with this story. I am not a writer nor am I good with my words and I did not want to write something that would be taken wrong, or insult the talents of the Author.
So First, I have to say; I don't normally pick or read M/M stories. I am, however, an avid reader of paranormal Romance or just Romance in general. *blushing* Ok. Ok. With a nice side dish of Erotica. *wink*
When I read this E-Book I feel in LOVE with the main Characters right away. It surprised me that I couldn't put my kindle down while I was reading this story. The more I read the more I wanted to know how it would turn out. The sex and romance in this book it not paint by the numbers as most romance stories tend to be. This was tastefully done and very HOT! I truly couldn't put it down.
Ms. Rory Ni Coileain's story was intelligently written. The Characters Pop out from the page and bring you into their world. You can hear the music and feel it pumping through your blood in the club scenes. You feel the pain of the sexy Fae, and smell the fettered decayed breath of the villain. You feel the pain, love and loss of each emotion of each character in this story.
Dear Ms. Rory Ni Coileain, you have made a fan out of me! I hope there will be more stories from you. I can't wait to see what your talents produce next.
